Colored Pencil Figure:
Drawing Life in Context II

Taught by Rebecca Olson
Enrich your figure studies with color

6 Saturday Afternoons, 1 to 4 pm
November 7 – December 19
(Skipping Nov 28)

(Part Two can be taken on its own,
or as a continuation of Part I.)

Working from the model, express movement in multi-hued gestures. Practice toned warm/cool rendering of form in light and shadow, marvel at how many tints make up a complexion, or try out bold, arbitrary or expressive shades. To explore composition and context, models will pose in simple clothing, with backdrops and still life objects.
We will talk about composition and color theory, play with Munsell’s 5-primary color wheel, and use examples from art history to explore ways the figure and background may relate, through mood, metaphor, or narrative. People of all skill levels can benefit from my approach to a livelier life drawing.

Fee: $170 (Associates $150) includes model fee.
