  When I first saw some Artist Books, I was fascinated by the possibilities I imagined there. To mix words, images, and favorite materials pulled all my interests into one direction.

In 1986-87, I built a series of one-of-a-kind books, with form reflecting content, to combine my own poems and drawings with scrimshaw, oil-marbled paper, fine cloth, wood, and leathers, silver, glass and ivory.

Later, I enjoyed teaching a series of courses in Book Arts at Pima College Community Services. The paper marbling course was very popular. As one student said, "This is more fun than making tortillas!"
